ABOUT
What is addiction?
Addiction is a disease that affects your brain and behavior. Addiction causes you to obsessively seek out the drug, even when the drug use causes behavior, health, or relationship problems.
Opiod drugs include:
Opium, codeine, heroin, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, fentanyl, methadone, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphine, paregoric, sufentanil, & tramadol.
What is Suboxone?
Suboxone contains a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is an opioid medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic. Nalaxone is a special narcotic drug that reverses the effects of other narcotic medicines.
How does Suboxone work?
Buprenorphine and Naloxone act on the same brain structures and processes as addictive opioids, but with protective or normalizing effects. Suboxone is used to treat narcotic (opioid) addiction/dependence.
